Lucy Ellen Rix graduated from Rose Bruford Drama School in 1996 and worked in Stage Management until 2000 when she then took a PGCE in English and Drama (secondary).
Lucy worked mainly in repertory theatre, and specialised in working as a Deputy Stage Manager. She has since taught on the Stage Management course at Birmingham School of Acting, and mentored several young stage managers through the Pendley Shakespeare Festival in Tring, Hertfordshire.
Since 2009 Lucy has been Head of Drama at New College, Worcester; a specialist boarding school for blind and partially sighted young people. She is a qualified teacher of the visually impaired, and has completed a Master’s in Education focusing on how Drama can be used to teach social skills to those on the autistic spectrum, along with a visual impairment.
Lucy is a regular contributor to Teaching Drama magazine and can occasionally be found directing youth theatre or using her Stage Management skills on local productions in the Midlands.
