Mark has been writing plays and musicals since his schooldays at Marlwood Comprehensive School, Bristol. No rock bands would play his songs so he included them in home-made musicals thus giving them a public airing! Most songs remain unknown but his plays have gone on to achieve success. Too Much Punch for Judy (1987) is recognised as one of the most performed contemporary plays in the world having been performed over 5000 times in its short life. Edexcel list his texts as being amongst the most popular for study in GCSE Drama exams. His plays tour professionally in UK schools and beyond, and are becoming increasingly available on DVD.   Mark wrote the stories for Tufty's Adventures (1993) and the twelve editions of the Tufty Tales comic (RoSPA 1994).  His most recent commission (2011) is to write the script for a film called Kids Who Look Out of the Window about school exclusions.  Mark lives with his family in Southampton where he works part-time at Oasis Academy Lord's Hill as Executive Director of Arts/Director Oasis Youth Theatre. He has 30 years’ teaching experience which is charted in his popular 2010 book Drama Schemes (Rhinegold). He also works as an educational consultant and offers freelance workshops to schools here and abroad.  Find out more here: http://www.wheellerplays.com
